Furthermore, it appears that his spine was

snapped by roughly hauling him to his feet, as you can hear him yell in

agony at that spefici moment.
Now I have never heard the details of what happened immediately prior to

this incident, but here are are my worst suspicions:-

Freddie Gray was being pursued on a bike by bike cops. They tazed him and

he fell of his bike and injured his spine.
The morons interpeted his inability to move as "disobeying a police

officer" and called for reinforcements.
A burly cop came and hauled him to his feet, snapping an already injured

spine and causing him to cry out in agony.
They then dragged him, paralyzed, to the van and threw him in.
He was now unable to breathe due to paralyusis from the neck down and

suffocated.
Instead of throwing him the van, he needed a neck brace, stretcher and

ambulance ride to the ER.

While it may well have been an accident, it was caused by gross negligence

by the police.PaulDenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06000712157106500437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5368160828091722393.post-7925046708220346162016-06-14T15:53:50.928-04:002016-06-14T15:53:50.928-04:00What a messed up world we live in.

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your incite and ability to decifer and explain in plain terms some of the relative issues with this case.
In my opinion your clearminded analysis of this entire debacle has been spot on. Your writing has been the lifeboat of reason in a sea of bias. I look forward to your next commentary. The Ferguson prosecutor chose complete disclosure of all of the evidence in front of a Grand Jury for which he was roundly criticized in some circles. In Baltimore the prosecutor chose to lay charges either as the result of a rush to judgment, or irrespective of the evidence.

If the decision in the later was made by Shatzow, let's hope voters in Baltimore do the right thing and rid themselves of an incompetent State Prosecutor for Baltimore when they get the chance. In this instance Nero was found not guilty, but the principle remains. The prosecutor says in effect to the police "if your arrest is later found to be without probable cause you will be charged with a crime." In light of that, it seems to me that police supervisors would instruct officers not to make an arrest unless they have absolute certainty that probable cause exists. Or worse yet, what officer would want to risk his career and his liberty by making any arrest? I mean, legal scholars can disagree over what counts as probable cause, but in Baltimore it appears that the police are supposed to have perfect judgment in that regard.Jim Holmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14854720105702925980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5368160828091722393.post-58746184824778302792016-05-27T11:19:26.833-04:002016-05-27T11:19:26.833-04:00Page--your analysis ought to be dispositive of all...Page--your analysis ought to be dispositive of all the Freddie Gray charges. Too bad we can't compel Judge Williams to read it! I for one am indeed grateful that Williams is as unpolitical as he is. I don't think we can expect him to put an end to this fiasco as a matter of law. I think he did indeed postpone the verdict for three days just to make sure there'd be no trouble over Preakness week-end, which in itself puts extra strain on the police.
